Intro

Hi we are Edit.

So at Edit we provide a service, which we work for the local university students in particular design school graduates an undergraduates who are looking to expand their portfolios and to initiate possible job offers with business’s.

Team 9

Edit is run by 9 graduates from Dundee art school. Each of us is a equal shareholder owning in total

100% of the shares. We each contribute where is needed in the business. However with our

particular background in design our individual skills are implemented in certain areas. (blair)

At Edit there are 9 equal shareholders whom all play an important part in running the company. Each of us contributes essential skills to the company and implemented in the aid of helping the students.

Expanation

So there are three main parts to our service. It all begins in a warehouse where people in the community can come and contribute to Edit by giving us things they don’t want anymore like old furniture or products. We will also go and pick things up if transport is a problem. This will be then be stored in the warehouse where items can be signed out by the graduates to use as materials.

workshops, membership, what we contribute, tooling (blair)

edit provides workshop spaces allowing students adequate space and equipment to design and create concept products. We charge everyone who wishes to use our service a small menebership fee per month, which keep on top of some of the smaller materials costs.

Then there is an exhibition gallery where the products are put on show for members of the community, entrepreneurs and other potential customers. Products will be priced anywhere between £50 and £250 depending on what they are. Not all products made will make it through to the gallery only the top 50.

Also we will set monthly themes and incentives to keep the graduates interested and focused.

Finance and benefits

So how will this benefit people? Well it would benefit the community, graduates, employers and Edit.

The community will be exposed to a whole new range of products, all hand crafted by designers and will also get the satisfaction of seeing things that they have donated to Edit, transformed into completely new products. This will mean that they will be able to able to see how they are contributing in an obvious way.

The graduates will receive 20% commission but more importantly they will be getting the opportunity to promote themselves and there work through our recognized brand Edit. Also all there materials are free.

Employers would also benefit from this as if they are looking for new young talent they will be able to visit Edits gallery where they will be able to discover a wide range of different talents in the same place.

Edit will be making a good profit for the service provided as we will be getting 80% commission of products sold with no direct labor or material costs.

Location and Layout

Edit will be located near the university campus so that it keeps a strong link from the university so we can collaborate. We also want to be well known by all the students and keep on their radar. The building consists of a three part layout – the warehouse, workshops and the exhibition gallery.

Sustainablility/ END

edit strives to source the majority of our materials from a sustainable source. We collect recycled products and reclaim old unwanted things. Edit is generated as a sustainable practice. The application of our skills and backgrounds keeps employment costs to a minimum, and the continuation of the learning process is applied.
